What's Inside

Each Bottle contains hundreds of Live Copepods ready to be added to your reef aquarium or refugium.

  • Cultivated in ozonated, purified salt water. (Never another fish tank!)
  • Only fed the highest quality phytoplankton to ensure the safety of adding directly to the aquarium.
  • High nutritional content, full of essential fatty acids (HUFAs).
  • Healthy swimming behavior to invoke a feeding response in the pickiest of saltwater aquarium fish.

Helpful Hints

  1. Live Copepods are stored below 75 degrees and the bottle should be placed out of high light to prevent algal blooms.
  2. Oxygen in the bottle will be depleted with time, so it is recommended that the flip caps be opened occasionally to allow fresh oxygen to enter the bottle.
  3. It is safe to add these copepods and the water directly to the saltwater aquarium, reef tank, or refugium as the water is made up only of filtered salt water, copepods, and phytoplankton (the copepods' food source).
  4. If dosing directly into a saltwater aquarium with the intention of creating a continuous population, it is best to do it after the tank lights have shut off to prevent all the fish from instantly devouring the new tasty additions.

Copepods In the Aquarium

Copepods are a type of marine zooplankton. They are a fundamental part of the marine ecosystem, making up the largest source of protein in the ocean. Feeding your fish and invertebrates copepods reproduces nature and helps create an environment in your marine aquarium for fishes and corals not just to survive, but to thrive!
